Since Microsoft has released Windows 10, they have replaced the old classic calculator with the newly designed Windows calculator. With every Windows release, they have been improving all the elements of the operating system to give a fresh look and feel. Since the new Windows Calculator has been introduced, it received many improvements in terms of user experience. From getting the transparent UI till getting the support for the dark theme, well a few months back it has added the support for currency convertor. Now Windows Calculator is getting the Graphing mode. As per Microsoft, this was the top feature requested by the users. Below is the comment which is made during the announcement.

Adding support for graphing was one of our top feature requests, so we’re excited to bring this feature to our users. Graphing capabilities are also essential for students who are beginning to explore linear algebra. With this feature, we hope to empower students to learn mathematics by improving their conceptual understanding and attitudes towards math.

Features of Graphing Mode in Windows Calculator

  • Plot one or more equations on the graph:
As the name suggests, it allows you to enter multiple equations which will help you to compare the plots and point with each other. You will be able to get the details on when these equations meet each other and at what point.Plot Equation - Windows Calculator
  • Add equations with variables:
It allows you to enter an equation with a second variable which can be a constant. Also, it will allow you to manipulate the value of the variable. Which will help in understanding the changes it makes to the equation.
  • Analyze the graph:
Hovering the mouse on the trace gives an understanding of the relationship of variables in the equation on the graph. Additionally, you have the option to quickly analyze the equation and get the values like domain, Range, Minima, Maxima, etc.Function Analysis - Windows Calculator

Basically this feature would not be that useful to a common man. But this would be helpful to those who are studying or are in the research field. Rather than taking points and plotting graphs, they would be able to quickly get the outcome of the quotation.
Just imagine if this would be available at the time of your education, then it would have leveraged your equation solving capabilities. What do you think about this? Do let us know your views in the comment section below. πŸ™‚
